Fernanda Meirelles

Fernanda Meirelles was born in São Paulo, Brazil and moved to the United States in the 1990s. She now lives in Miami. Her influences range from the female forms of classical Greek mythology to Japanese art. Her art has been exhibited internationally in Brazil, Germany, France, Mexico, Uruguay and the United States. Today, not only the muses from the ancient world are Meirelles' sources of inspiration for her abstract figures, but also everything that touches her. "Art is to feel something", she says, "I want people to be transported to a world of hope and beauty through my art."
