The artists represented by
BrasilArts were not chosen solely because of their national origins.
Each artist possesses a singular and unique style. Each is an
accomplished artist in his or her own right, standing as a compelling
example of the Brasilian modern school.
About the Founder
BrasilArts was founded by
Mara Carli, a Brasilian who has lived
in the United States for twenty-five years. A native of
São Paulo, Mara
grew up surrounded by the arts.
Her father encouraged an appreciation of the arts in his children, and
her brother, Luiz Guido, is a talented artist and musician.
Following a relocation to Tampa
in 1999, Mara became acquainted with the powerful portraits of Brasilian
Indians by Andre Luiz Miranda. She realized that he had an extraordinary
talent that should be represented and promoted in the U.S. That initial
representation led to new connections with other artists. Over the past
two years, BrasilArts has grown to represent a dozen artists. The firm
has gained recognition as
a significant source of art works by the
contemporary artists
of
São Paulo and Mato Grosso. |
