Olivia Amaral                                                  BrasilArts
Olivia Amaral was born in 1948 in Araraquara in the state of São Paulo. A graduate of the ESEF at the University of São Paulo in 1971, she has been active as an artist, curator and gallery owner for over 18 years. The artist’s recent paintings convey a love of color, an acute sense of balance in composition, and an almost zen-like quality of poise and calm. Her subjects come alive, yet they exist in environments bounded only by suggestions of space. Her works have been exhibited extensively in Brasil; and in international exhibitions in Berlin, Madrid, the United States and Mexico. She maintains a studio in São Paulo, where she paints, teaches workshops and executes special projects.  Return
